  • This lovely ceramic figurine "Mona" or a Doll, is holding a removable platter on her head. 
  • The figurine was made by Hilario Alejos Madrigal's wife, Adelia, a Mexican Potter from a small town in the state of Michoacan, known for “pineapple” ceramic wares. 
  • The name comes from the original form created by Hilarios mother, potter Elisa Madrigal Martinez, who created punch bowls in the shape of pineapples.
  • Adelia is a price winning ceramists on her own. Her works include figurines, bowls, candelabras and more. 
  • The Institute of Artisans Michoacanos has a yearly event which honors the best of Michoacans artisans. 
  • The 2018 event took place in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico.
  • The girl has a small chip on the inside of her head. You cannot see it unless you remove the platter on her head.
