  • The Zapatistas (Mexican revolutionary soldiers) were made by paper mache artist Javier Bobadilla Vidal, from Mexico City.

  • The Zapatistas were formed in 1910 in the southern Mexican state of Morelos. Zapata, whose main cause was land reform, became one of the major figures of the Mexican Revolution.

  • The details are amazing...the wide rim hat, the rifle hanging on the chair, the handkerchief around his neck, the mask in his hand, the bullet belt across his chest and of course the skeleton heads on both side of the chair.

  • The color is a slight different due to the camera, the skeleton is a beige with green tones.

  • All his work is hand painted, signed and hand assembled by Javier.
  • Javier has won awards in Mexico for his work. His art is found in private collectors homes and in galleries.
  • Great gift for anyone interested in Mexican art/history, paper mache figurines or for someone special.
